I ran 100 startup ideas through AI buyer agents. Here is what broke.

Most validation tools flatter you. They tell you your landing page looks great and your idea sounds clever.

To see where the limits actually are, I built a test set of 100 ideas for Clarno across 10 batches—ranging from easy consumer apps to adversarial models, multi-sided marketplaces, and ideas that were impossible before recent model releases.

What surprised me:

- The price objection hides trust: When agents push back on high price, dropping the cost almost never works. The real objection is "I don't trust you yet" or "I don't want to be blamed if this breaks."

- Marketplaces fail on the easy side: Supply signs up for free and looks like traction. Demand never arrives because nobody tested whether buyers actually care about that specific supply.

- Nobody argues about the name: In every simulation, agents argue about switching costs, budget, and risk. Not one buyer ever cared what the product was called.

A tool is only as honest as the worst idea it handles well.
